The Baird’s Beaked Whale is a deep-diving, elusive cetacean found in cold, northern waters. It’s characterized by a distinctive, downward-curving beak and pale skin, which becomes darker after diving. Scientists believe they undertake incredibly deep dives to hunt squid and other deep-sea prey.
