Deinonychus

Deinonychus was a swift and agile hunter from the late Cretaceous period. This small theropod dinosaur possessed large, sickle-shaped claws on its feet, likely used for pinning down prey. Deinonychus is now known to have been a formidable predator, rather than a simple scavenger.
